ARTpreneur: Shape our cities for the 21st century

This exclusive presentation at the ARTpreneur conference will talk about the vital contributions of artists and creators to building better towns and cities; how artists are leading community revitalization and creating new economic opportunities; and why municipalities need to do Cultural Plans and change their old way of doing business.

Using examples from around the world, Gord’s dynamic illustrations of how artists helped to change cities and towns will excite the audience. From public art to architecture, Gord will show how artists are vital to creating dynamic and vibrant communities that can prosper and grow. And he’ll offer specific suggestions on how artists can work with local municipalities to grow the arts sector and improve their economic opportunities.

This forum will give you a firm understanding of the funding opportunities available for artists and entrepreneurs in Northern Ontario.

The Ontario Arts Council will walk you through its programs, artist eligibility, components of funding applications, how applications are assessed, and types of eligible projects.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund will outline its entrepreneurial programming with provides funding resources to new businesses.
